Message You HAVE been very helpful and the links have given me new possibilities. I didn't thank you for the research you did in previous posts and I should have.

One of the things I most object to when I visit new sites is the assumption that just because I'm new, that I'm also clueless. I'm not actually new - I was here 10-11 years ago when I had my '95 (cobalt green) NA 2+2... This is my 4th 300zx starting with an '88 Z31 turbo that I got to drive on the German Autobahn back in the early 90's.

So I'm going to take your advice and try out some of your resources. The least I can do is to give detailing and deep cleaning/polishing a shot to see how good it CAN get before painting. I've used PDR services before, when my black '90 NA coupe sustained some pretty severe hail damage, and I know they can do a good job. Once I exhaust these possibililities, I'll reevaluate how it looks, and make the decision then. I don't have a lot of time and I'm not known for my patience, but I'm sure I can make some difference.

Not sure how comfortable I am removing trim, but if I can figure it out, then 'rattle-canning' it isn't beyond my capabilities.

One of the biggest reasons I'm considering a repaint is that I'm also adding a TT spoiler - and I wanted them painted together to minimize color differences. The Maaco $820 quote included mounting, prepping and painting the new spoiler. I added a spoiler to my '95 NA and the body shop I took it to didn't match it to my satisfaction. Wanted to avoid that this time.

STILL don't agree that it's going to lessen resale value... since if I EVER get rid of it, it'll probably go to my daughter as a HS graduation present in 6-7 years... or so she tells me... :-)

Have NOT been caught by the wheel police yet, but I just had tires rotated a few weeks ago and haven't noticed direction. I'm also not sure my tires are directional - will have to check.

Thanks for your help - I'll give it a shot...
